:bulletred: Representation:  Germania

:bulletorange: Human Name: Hartwin Schmidt

:bulletyellow: Personality:  The man is one of very few words and not many expressions. He keeps to himself most of the time except when it comes to close friends, which are few, and his family. He cherishes his friends and family and is rather overprotective when it comes to certain things. Since he has been around for many centuries he has a very good understanding of others and is rather silent in his support. When he is outspoken and loud is when pushed the ends of his rather long patience. There were only two that could push him to his end of patience, Rome and Prussia. Rome irks him because of his 'buddy-buddy' behaviour towards him despite his knowledge that Germania dislikes him. Prussia on the other hand is a whole different case of the stunts he pulls. He is mischievous and likes to pull off daring stunts that would make greys pop in Germania's hair. He a rather social but quiet person, disliking to not have someone around but not enjoying to talk.

:bulletblue: Headcanons (anything not canon that you see fitting to the character. These deepen the character and is a way of making them your own. 5 strong headcanons minimum):

1. Germania does not like drinking too much. He drank far too much when he was still friends with Rome and that got him into far too many painful situations so he avoids drinking unless he has someone around that could stop him from doing something foolish.

2. Germania enjoys making things. He enjoys whittling, carving and smithing. It was important when he was still a small nomadic tribe and Rome was growing in size. He learned quickly from Rome and changed and shaped it for himself. As he grew in strength and numbers he expanded his knowledge to ensure to survival of any outside attacks.

3. Germania is rather stoic when it comes to sharing his emotions but rather supportive of others. He would prefer others not to turn out how he did, suppressing his emotions and how he forced that ideal upon Holy Roman Empire and Germany and Prussia. Germania had little interactions with other nations of his time and secluded himself from any assistance rather than knowing Rome. Despite being a nomadic nation, there were those such as Gallia and Illyrium. Even thought there was interaction despite passing greetings if passed upon borders, Germania could have made more connections with them simply because they were neighbouring nations and could be of help. He doesn't share his feels as often as he should when something bothers him but is free with his familial affections. When it comes to romantic affections he is rather shy upon sharing with his partner, at times feeling out of depth with what he should say or do.

4. Germania enjoys going to other nations to explore but finds it hard to since he prefers to stay at home.

5. Germania also likes to go hunting when he's able, keeping his skills up to snuff rather than laze about and bug his family despite being told he is not a burden. Not having a official position makes him feel lost at times and like a burden to Germany. He would enjoy to be of some use and assist Germany and give any guidance if asked but since the move into the modern age, he feels that he would not be able to assist in any way.

:bulletpurple: Brief History (at least a paragraph long; references historical facts on general concepts, eras, and/or important wars, etc.; inclusion of your character's personal experience with history is optional): Germania was a nation that geographic region that was most inhabited by Germanic tribes. There was a population of 5,000,000 people in 1 B.C. It was bored by the areas west of Rhine that mostly contained the Celtic. Of the area there were many people that were labeled as Germani or Gauls by the Roman standards. By Caesars time the Gaul were considered barbaric and savage despite the relations the Rome and Germania had. This dissonance between the nation and leaders views upon the Germanic nation was what brought upon the betrayal that made Germania scorn Rome despite other feelings had. The Roman conquest of Germania lead to Germania's land being split and occupied by Roman legati. The continuation of the Roman conquest was halted by Germania and his clansmen defeating them and forcing them to withdrawal from the occupied areas and from venturing forward. Because of the damage done and Rome's lack of assistance, Germania harbours a deep dislike, he couldn't fully hate him despite what he did to him, for Rome.

:bulletred: Relations (how your character gets along with other nations): Germania is rather much a hermit if he has family so he only interacts with few people.

  1. HRE (Holy Roman Empire) was his son when he was younger. Germany and Prussia are his eldest children. He does have other children such as Bavaria and Saxony but he has lost track of the relations over the years having fathered some nations and being grandfather to others.
  2. Austria has relations with him as Germany's cousin giving Germania some influence as well.  When it comes to his family, he has immediate relationship with some and distant with others. When HRE was formed, he formed it was time of happiness but slight bitterness as HRE was seen by his leader as a second coming of the Roman Empire with the prestige and possible conquest that would come along with it. At the dissolving of HRE during 1806 where many Germanic nations fell under France's control it was merciless and ended with the ultimate end of HRE. Germania was devastated that his son who did not get to grow into the potential that had. He was listless and devastated and listless that he lost his son but the formation of Germany gave him a time of hope where he wanted to keep safe. He was rather overprotective of Germany and Prussia especially through the time of their unification to World War I and the official dissolving of Prussia. With his other sons he did not get to see Bavaria and Saxony as often as he liked as they was a distance between them. He would have preferred that he could visit and even live with them from time to time but he kept away from them as he felt that was there wish. Austria was rather at arms length as he did interact Germany and was friends, from what he saw, but it didn't seem that Austria saw Germany or him as family so he did not try to push a familial relationship with him. If ever asked he would be quick to help any of his sons or grandsons or cousins but he did not push a relationship when it didn't seem to be asked for or needed
  3. Rome is. It is complicated when it comes to Lucius. The Western Roman Empire has always been something of an ally as well as an enemy and goal to conquer for Hartwin. His relationship with Lucius could best be described as bittersweet. They were at each others' neck most of the time, Hartwin antagonizing Lucius but there were feelings of softer foundation from the Germanic. He did not have a traditional respect for Lucius as it seemed he never forced it upon him. He always antagonized him, even from a young age, as Lucius never really reprimanded him and it simply grew as the centuries went on. He honestly disliked Lucius for a great period of time but did not understand fully how he felt towards him.
  4. When it comes to the Hun, Mundzuk, he would assist in killing him all over again, only if provoked of course. After being somewhat conquered then having his tribesmen used as cannon fodder, not treated in any respect he did not think highly of the hun. But he would not. The Hun was not on top of his list but despite the forceful rule he tempered his resentment to simple dislike of what happened. He would be amicable towards him if ever meeting once again and he believed he could even release some of the resentment if only because he could see that he left behind a large mark of the evidence of his revenge. It was petty but he could let a grudge go.
  5. Gaul was an interesting figure as she had taken watch over him and also taken some of his tribes from him. But he did not despise her as he did towards Mundzuk as she did not treat them unfairly. She was a wonderful woman, he believed, as she had familiar rites and traditions and was a warrior in her own right and was vicious. He has affection for the vicious woman despite his hairpin decision that he would rip her throat out if provoked.
